The initial Security Deposit (SD) is required to be given in 100% cash component. The lock in period for SD is three (3) years.

Is it possible for a client to register simultaneously through more than one Member?
It is possible for a client to register simultaneously through more than one Member only under the Power Segment. Refer Circular No 125, dated 1st March 2013.
What is the validity period of the Annual Subscription and Client Subscription fees paid by the Member?
The fees paid at any period of time will be valid for the succeeding twelve months. Refer Circular No. 64 dated Aug 11, 2011.
Who is the regulator of Power Exchanges in India?
IEX is approved and regulated by Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) which is a statutory authority constituted under the Electricity Act 2003 with quasi judiciary role. The activities of IEX are regulated under the various regulations and procedures notified by CERC including the Power Market Regulations 2010, as amended from time to time.

What is the difference between a Grid Connected and a Trader Client?
Grid Connected Client: A Client who is eligible to buy or sell electricity and is connected to the grid. The entities including but not limited to, Distribution Licensees, Generators and Open Access Users can become Grid-connected Clients. Trader Client: A Client who is eligible to trade in electricity under the Electricity Act, 2003 and has a legally valid power purchase/sale agreement, which gives the Client the right to purchase and sell electricity. The entities such as trading licensees can become Trader Clients. All Trader Clients shall have a grid-connected entity for affecting the delivery of the electricity as cleared and settled by the Exchange.
