What is Term Ahead Market ?

Term Ahead Market (TAM) provides a range of products allowing participants to buy/sell electricity on a term basis for a duration of up to 90 days. Currently, products in the include Intra-Day, Day-Ahead Contingency (DAC), and the Term Ahead contracts to help participants manage their electricity portfolio for different durations

Intraday Contracts

Region specific contracts are available for trading of same day delivery. The contracts are available for trading from 00:15 hrs to 19:30 hrs on a daily basis through continuous trading process.

Day Ahead Contingency Contracts

Region specific contracts are available for trading of next day delivery. The contracts are available for trading from 13:00 hrs to 23:30 hrs on daily basis through continuous trading process.

Daily Contracts

Region specific contracts are available for trading in daily contracts. The daily contracts are available for trading on a rolling basis every day from 12:00 to 17:00 hrs for delivery day starting from T+2 to T+90.

Weekly Contracts

Region specific contracts are available for trading in weekly contracts for 12 Weeks. The weekly contracts are available for trading from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 17:00 hrs for delivery period starting from next week.

Monthly Contracts

Nationalised contracts are available for trading in Monthly contracts for next 3 months. The monthly contracts are available for trading every day from 12:00 to 17:00 hrs for delivery period starting from next month.

Any Day Single Side Contracts

Only Buyers can initiate an auction in Any-day(s) single sided reverse auction-based contracts for delivery up to 90 days. Sellers can start participating in auction by submitting their bids in Interest, IPO and Reverse Auction stages. In final stage of Allocation, buyer will be provided with L1, L2, L3… sellers till the buyer requisition are fulfilled (bucket filling) and buyers will have ‘right to accept’/’right to reject’ during allocation stage
